RHW + Mamai Nutrition: A Mondays Are For Mamas Special!

As I mentioned in last week’s post, I recently launched Mondays Are For Mamas, a special IGTV series for moms and moms-to-be. And while the past month of videos has been great, this week is extra special because I partnered with Mamai Nutrition, a London-based Prenatal Nutrition startup specializing in prenatal snacks, nutrition courses and delicious recipes that promote the well-being of prenatal and postnatal people!

My student, Dani Mesalles, is the talented and wonderful founder of Mamai. Here’s a bit about her and her company, in her own words:

“Dani has been cooking and baking with her mom and sisters since she was little. After a health scare, four years ago, she’s followed a mostly vegan diet, and believes in healthy eating and balancing that out with all the amazing things life has to offer (yes, chocolate included).

With Mamai Nutrition, Dani and her team aim to help women with their nutrition as they prepare for pregnancy, carry a baby to term, and help their body recover afterwards and breastfeed their new babies. Mamai Nutrition is made up of moms, nutritionists, and food enthusiasts, who want to teach about the power of food in all kinds of different lifestyles. Mamai Nutrition offers practical nutritional advice, and also now delicious home-delivered snacks in London.”

For this week’s Mondays Are For Mamas, I went ahead and whipped up one of Mamai’s delicious recipes: Strawberry Power Bites (see pic above). These bites were easy to make, filled with amazing vitamins and nutrients AND – I saved the best for last! – smothered in dark chocolate! As my grandpa would say “What’s not to like?!”. Oh, and they’re partner-approved, so whether your taste buds are prenatal, postnatal or have nothing to do with babies, they’re still a great addition to your weekly snack rotation.

Ready to try them out? Here’s what you’ll need:

100g cashews
80g sliced almonds
20g almond butter
2-4 medjool dates
35g freeze dried strawberries
100g dark chocolate
16g olive oil
30-45g pistachios, chopped in small pieces

Need more reasons to get cooking? These bites take only 15 minutes of prep + 15 minutes of freezer time, and are kid friendly to make (lots of repetitive pouring in of ingredients = fun to be had!). Head on over to my IGTV for the video tutorial – I can’t wait to cook together!
